MacParallax

Try it on your Mac.

Early access · Not Apple-notarized. This build uses an ad-hoc signature, without a Developer ID certificate or Apple notarization. macOS may block the first launch and require your manual approval. Check that you are comfortable with this before downloading.

Version 0.8.0 · Build 12 · Apple silicon MacBook · macOS 14 or later.
A compatible lid angle sensor is required. See tested hardware and known limits.

Download free trial (.dmg)

14 days from your first successful live desktop effect. No card, no automatic charge. Checkout is not open yet; if the trial expires before purchases open, the effect turns off.

1. Move the app to Applications

Open the downloaded disk image and drag MacParallax into Applications. Open it from Applications, not from inside the disk image. Eject the disk image after copying.

2. Allow the first launch, if needed

If macOS says it cannot verify the developer or check the app, close that message. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security, then find MacParallax under Security. If you trust this download, choose Open Anyway and confirm with your password or Touch ID.

If approval is unavailable or macOS reports detected malware, revoked authorization or a modified file, stop and contact support. Do not disable Gatekeeper globally. A managed work Mac may prevent manual approval. Apple explains these alerts and approval options.

3. Set up the menu bar app

MacParallax stays in the menu bar. Follow its setup screens to set a comfortable reference angle and allow Screen Recording for the live desktop effect. Quit and reopen when macOS asks. Camera and Accessibility permission are not needed.

4. Test before buying

Lower, stop and reopen the lid at several angles. Check your Spaces, full-screen apps and optional audio control. Turn the effect off from the menu bar if the screen or cursor looks wrong. Use the trial to confirm the app suits your Mac before purchasing.

Updating or removing

Quit MacParallax before replacing it in Applications. This ad-hoc build may require first-launch approval and Screen Recording permission again after an update. Updates are manual; read the release notes before installing. To remove the app, quit it and move it from Applications to the Trash.

Verify the download
