MacParallax

Will it work on your Mac?

Try the app on your own Mac before purchasing. Hardware support is determined by the lid angle sensor, not just the chip name.

Requirements

Known limits

External displays, Intel Macs, protected video, login and lock screens are outside the current supported scope. The visual effect is not a privacy or screen-sharing filter.

Spaces transitions, physical sleep/wake and different Mac models still need broader real-world testing. The effect assumes a viewing position; it cannot hold the image in exact physical space for every observer.

Installing the early-access build

The current build is ad-hoc signed and not notarized by Apple. Follow the installation guide before testing. macOS may require manual approval at first launch and after updates.

A quick first check

  1. Open the app and confirm that a changing lid angle is shown.
  2. Set your comfortable open position as the reference angle.
  3. Grant Screen Recording, then lower the lid slowly. Stop and reverse at several angles.
  4. Try your own desktops, full-screen apps and audio output before buying.
